Just completing the range of lenses required to cover my needs. Really didn't want to get caught out having to change lenses during an event opening I'd been invited to shoot; and the 35-70mm is kind of essential to cover the kinds of shots likely to be encountered there.
The need for parsimony dictated another look at eBay and old Nikkors—which led me to this:
From Korea, this one, and not quite as cheap and nicely wrapped as my first foray into older Nikkors—as told about here—but still worth every cent. Took it out for a spin into a forest with some challenging light situations.
And trying out the macro capability...
